Markus belonged to an elite group of warriors during his life span. He was commended to Elite commander status during the last dog and wolf war. He got injured when a Skeer-eek attacked him injuring him beyond repair.
After king Layka annouced that there was no need for the crimson warriors anymore, he retired and became a blacksmith. He occasionally goes to the Skyarrow Market(episode eight) to collect materials brought to him by a merchant by the name of Altar. The two slowly became friends over a period of time.
When Suki came to visit him one time, he found out that he had become an uncle to the king's daughter, Lukura. He easily got along with her teaching her everything he knew about becoming a conduit. She leaves to visit him something her stepmom doesn't approve of every once and awhile.
He helps Shegra out alot on her journey being her dad's friend.
